Hardwood Solitaire IV Pro App Reviews

My favorite game

I found this company years back on the Xbox 360. When I traded it in, I really missed the game so I took a chance and searched for them. Yay! I cant praise the beautiful scenery, relaxing sounds, and wonderful artwork enough! Love it!

Stop trying to connect to the internet!

The cards and interface are gorgeous. The reason I give it 3 stars is because it is constantly trying to connect to the internet. Its getting really annoying having to close the pop-up that lets me know it cant connect. There should be an option to disable this, but there isnt. This is a solitaire game, not a multiplayer!

Needs battery, repeats

Now I play for awhile only to find the battery needs recharging, could use a battery gauge to warn me about this, after playing awhile I noticed repeated cards in the piles. I like this except for this problem, it takes away the enjoyment.

Love! Silver Creek

I have been waiting for this game to come to iPad! I have loved this game since my first PC. And then when I switched to a iMac I bought that version. The Graphics are great. All of their card games are very good and worth it. So Excited I found them again. Dont stop with solitaire look for their other games for iPad.

painfully sluggish

Unfortunately I purchased this app based on comments from coverage at MacWorld without waiting for ratings. My mistake as it is very sluggish which makes it painful to play (iPad 1 and iPhone 4). This is unfortunate as it does look pretty nice and does give a decent selection of games. Also the iPhone version looks like a miniature version of the iPad including tiny buttons - no redesign, just shrunk down. Ultimately it looks like it might be a port of another version but has no tuning for the iOS devices nor consideration of iPhone vs. iPad screen size. There is really no excuse for this as it definitely should not need any high performance capabilities. Would recommend staying clear of this.

Money grab

Originally gave this a 5 star rating for gameplay, graphics & design, which still holds true. Unfortunately what I didnt realize at the time was game makers "new way"of doing business with the implementation of a never ending monthly "membership renewal" fee and selling "tokens" to get extras (which should be included with the "membership" fee). Theres more than enough great games/apps out there that you dont need to empty your pockets every month over this one... P.S. forcing reviewers to give at least an obligatory 1 star rating ought to be eliminated too.

Hidden cost

No mention of any sort of monthly fees that i could see, until you load up the game that is. Game itself is good, but the monthly fee is not.

Four Thieves

Fun, fast solitaire game, where you play to beat your previous score and race the clock for a quicker finish and overall score! Good graphics, quick play, and you can strategize your play, by moving back and forth in the unplaced cards.

Don

The amount of games is the only redeeming aspect. Otherwise the animation is slow and clunky. Some of the free games in the Appstore are better, but lack the variety.

Best Looking Solitaire Out There

Ive played the Hardwood Solitaire series on both the PC and the Xbox before getting it for the iPad. This version is quite nice and worth the money, but there are a couple of things that could be improved upon. Animation is slow in some areas (most noticeably the menus) and there is a glaring lack of game types. Other than that, if youre looking for a high quality solitaire game, look no further!

Well worth the money!

This game has great animation and tons of game options to choose from, so youll never get bored. Also, the background and card designs are beautiful. Very enjoyable to play, I recommend it!

More work is needed.

It is sluggish when I enter the main menu. And some animations are annoying. Game play is not that bad. But I think it needs more work.

One of the more attractive solitaire games

This game has goregous graphics. True, the transition to iPad has made the gameplay a little slow. It says some environments have sound effects but I dont see that. For instance, in the computer version the "village square" back ground has bird song, etc. The computer version has more backgrounds & sound effects; hopefully this app eventually will be upgraded to incorporate some of those. And, Ill up my rating to five stars (despite the minor flaws previously mentioned) if youll add La Belle Lucie, my favorite game on the computer version.,

Love the game, but whats with all the in app purchases?

I had the pc version and was anxiously waiting for the iPad one, but to my surprise, these guys seem very greedy charging for EVERYTHING! I mean, I understand they want to be rewarded for their jobs, but it is the same as the pc versions, it wasnt as if they designed everything from scratch, they even have a few bugs with the menus and is quite slow. So I dont think it is even worth all the extra money. They just include like 6 games, the pc version had dozens for one price, as well as deck faces, avatars, music, backgrounds, etc, you could even customize all to your preferences. I hope they just decide to lower their extra charges, cause im sure it will scare a lot of new buyers who are not familiar with the original game.

One annoying flaw...

Please fix the icon for this App. Ive uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated, but every time the app finishes installing, the app icon changes to a rendering of the game splash screen (SilverCreek logo with a waterfall) that is cropped and displayed sideways at 90 degrees. Very annoying! This is on a 3rd generation iPad with Retina display.

Keep em coming

Very good game excellent graphics, menus are slow and bulky. Once you get past the menus the game is smooth and fun.

.?

Not user friendly..not as good as the older hardwood solitaire 2. Deleted it after trying to play.

Best solitaire game

Brilliant visuals and interface. Love it

Great

The new update is awesome on my new iPad. It crashes on my original iPad but that is ok. I have this on my Mac and LOVE it as you can put the games you have purchased on the Mac to the iPad. Awesome!! Thanks to the developers!!!

Im not happy with this version.

I used to play the Silver Creek games on my PC before I switched to a Mac. I loved them and was pleased to see them available. However, I dont like the continual News Feed at the bottom or the connection to Game Center. Its fine when I play with someone else, but as a single player game I really dont care about adding my score and would love to be able to turn those features off. If I can find a solution or if they change this the game would be perfect.
